Catching Up …

Hi everyone, I apologize for the silence on my blog recently – life has been incredibly hectic! I wanted to take a moment to reconnect and share with you all what I’ve been immersed in lately…

I won several awards at the Equus Arts and Film Festival in Albuquerque, MN.

In progress:

The Travels of Dr. Rebecca Harper A Matter of Time is currently shortlisted for the Chanticleer
Laramie Awards for Western and Americana Fiction!!

Speaking of progress…

I have completed 90% of a new book. This one takes place on the Yorke Peninsula of South
Australia. It does have two vets, but it is different from the Horse Doctor stories.
You are just going to have to wait. I have been busy, but it is more on the vet side of things.
One of my many mottos is “Don’t die knowing things that can help vets get the job done
without sharing.”

In my many years of working at two vet schools and in private practice, I saw and did things I
discovered, making practice both safe, with better outcomes and easy.
An example is my experiences in 2015 with several burned horses. I saw horses which appeared
to be sloughing their hooves. Should I put the horses through unimaginable torture trying to
save them? No one knew the answer.
I have been asked to write a chapter in a veterinary text book. Even in my last few years of
practice, I relied upon this valuable textbook.

So, the answer is YES! All the horses survived, and no one came close to losing their hooves.
I am also preparing to give lectures at a veterinary school in March.
There is so much I learned, and I am pleased to pass on this knowledge. The cost is time away
from my other life as a fiction writer … So please be patient.

On a personal note …

I am traveling to Australia and New Zealand in January and February to see family and friends.
I hope to catch up with you. Let me know: ewoolseydvm@gmail.com
Merry Christmas to you all. I am so happy you have joined me on this adventure.
